NDBC event at Fargo Davies High School promotes “Build Your Base With Beef” program
BISMARCK, N.D. — The North Dakota Beef Commission (NDBC) is hosting a tailgating event Friday, August 27, at Fargo Davies High School to celebrate the school’s participation in the “Build Your Base With Beef” program, a comprehensive sports nutrition program that features beef in the center of the plate.
The Build Your Base program equips athletes, coaches and parents to understand the role of high-quality protein like beef in diet, overall health and athletic performance. Fargo Davies High School had 220 student athletes participate in the Build Your Base program over the summer.
The tailgating event will be held in conjunction with Fargo Davies’ first football game on the school’s new turf field and home opener against Fargo Shanley High School and will promote the benefits of beef in an athlete’s diet. Tailgating will take place from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., with game kick-off at 7:05 p.m. The NDBC will provide beef burgers and all-beef hotdogs free of charge on a first come-first served basis.
Programs like Build Your Base are made possible through beef checkoff investments made by beef producers in North Dakota for beef promotion, research and education. For more information on the Build Your Base program or to apply for a Build Your Base grant for a school, contact Nicole Wardner with the NDBC at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The NDBC, representing North Dakota beef producers, manages the state beef checkoff program with the mission of enhancing beef demand by strengthening consumer trust and exceeding consumer expectations. This is accomplished through programs and activities in the areas of promotion, research and consumer information. For additional information on the NDBC, visit ndbeef.org.
